Let Thy Words Be Few

At the Ninety-Third Psalm, David described the Lord God as reigning and as being clothed with majesty. The sublime and sovereign power of the Almighty are referred to as majesty, as are His dignity and authority. At Second Peter One, the apostle recalled his personal experiences with the Savior and wrote that he and his colleagues were eyewitnesses of His majesty. To comprehend even a measure of the majesty of the Almighty should also be to comprehend the immeasurable inferiority of humanity to his Creator. Through the prophet Isaiah, God declared His ways and thoughts to be higher than those of humanity as the heavens were indeterminately higher than the earth. For this, Solomon advised at the Fifth of Ecclesiastes, “Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in Heaven, and thou upon the earth: therefore, let thy words be few.”
