But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18).

How indescribable to hold a newborn babe! So precious, innocent, a marvel to see and feel the new life as a blessing from God.
To become a child of God, a Christian, is to be born again (John 3:3), a new life (2 Corinthians 5:17).
In the same manner that a newborn babe musts grow to live – we must not remain a spiritual babe. 1 Peter 2:2 encourages milk for the babe to “grow thereby.” Hebrews 5:12ff points us toward being “full age.” So, our text points us toward growing in grace and knowledge. From our becoming a Christian to the time of life on earth ceasing for us – let us grow, mature, become more like Christ and press toward the goal (Philippians 2:12-16).
