Daily Lift – May 17th, 2018

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Hebrews 11:13).

Death is inevitable for all of us (Hebrews 9:27). When it comes, how will it find us? Will it find us in rebellion? In doubt or despair? Or will it find us in faith? How wonderful it is for a soul to leave this world in genuine, Biblical faith. A soul that is persuaded of God’s promises, fully trusting in His Word, sheds the frailties of this world and enters into a realm of rest.

The fact is, one is able to die in faith only after having lived in faith. Realizing this present world is not one’s permanent home is vital (Titus 2:11-13). Have we set our spiritual eyes on the home God has promised? He is faithful that promised (Hebrews 10:23).
