Daily Lift – June 10, 2017 – Saturday Edition

Often I've wondered how certain areas looked many years ago. This is particularly true with regard to the neighborhood where I live. I've imagined what the landscape might have appeared as many years before the builders came to construct homes all over the place.

Also, I've imagined what might have gone on in the site preparation and building of the subdivision once the contractors arrived. Obviously, they did arrive. All those many residences didn't just appear by themselves.

Daily Lift – May 30, 2017

The Memphis School of Preaching is blessed to have a most outstanding library and on the second floor of the beautiful building is located an archive room. One of the artifacts is the paper on which Tillit S. Teddlie wrote his famous song, “Worthy Art Thou.” The hymn comes from the verse quoted above and it is said that brother Teddlie wrote it immediately upon a reading of the passage.

Daily Lift – May 04, 2017

We all live two lives, an inward life and an outward life. Peter urged women “Do not let your adornment be merely outward…rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit…” (1 Peter 3:3, NKJV). We’re often better at maintaining the outward man, the one people easily see.
