Sincerity and Truth

The Savior taught us that the people of God are few who will pass through the gates unto life. Even so, the Church is meant to have a great influence upon the world. Unfortunately, evil has been known to have an unholy influence upon the Church. Such was the case when Paul the apostle rebuked the Corinthian Church for tolerating the presence of an openly immoral man. Paul described the matter as a leaven that would soon affect the whole proverbial lump of dough. As a form of corruption, that leaven was to be purged out so that they could present themselves as pure as the unleavened bread of the Passover and Christ’s Communion. The Church is to be as the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
