But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (Genesis 50:20).
God is truly amazing, and how incredibly frustrating that must be to the devil! When men and women commit evil, God is able ultimately to “turn” it for good (in keeping with His purpose). This is neither to say that God originates the evil, nor is He party to it. He is simply all-powerful. He is wise enough, powerful enough, to overcome evil for the sake of good.
No wonder then that Paul asked, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Was he stating that no one would oppose us as God’s children? Certainly not. He was stating, however, that no one can oppose us successfully in the ultimate sense – not as long as we remain faithful and true to God. Now that’s a life-changer!
