Is and Shall Be

The Third of Matthew tells us of John the Baptist preaching that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand. The Savior conveyed the same message beginning at Chapter Four, as did the apostles at Matthew Ten. At that time, the Kingdom was seen as coming in the near future. However, at the Fourteenth of Romans, Paul the apostle wrote in present tense of the Kingdom, describing it as righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. At the First of Colossians, Paul said the saints have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom. Again, this places the Kingdom in the present. Yet again, First Corinthians Fifteen teaches us of the Kingdom being inherited in eternity by those whose earthly flesh has been changed to immortal spirit. Second Peter One promises the faithful an entrance into the everlasting Kingdom, placing it in eternity. The Church is the visible manifestation of these, which was to come, which is, and shall be.
