We Shall Also Live With Him
It is a natural thing to want to be like those whom we admire. None, however, is more worthy of our imitation than the Savior Himself. If we should undertake to be like Him, the Sixth of Romans indicates that our old person of sin is to be destroyed. This is accomplished by repentance. The mortified person of sin is to be buried in baptism as Christ died for the sins of the world and was buried in the tomb. Brought forth again from the watery grave as the Savior rose again, one now enjoys a renewal of spiritual life in Christ. As Paul the apostle wrote at Second Timothy Two, “It is a faithful saying: for if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him.”
