Reasonable Service
God required at the Fortieth of Exodus that priests must be prepared by washing to render service at the Tabernacle. A brass basin of water was provided for this purpose. Those who will come to God through Christ must also undergo a washing. At the Twenty-Second of Acts, Paul quoted Ananias as telling him he must be baptized to wash away his sins. Further, First Peter Two tells us that those so washed become a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices. Later in the chapter, that same priesthood is described as royal. Romans Twelve tells us that the spiritual sacrifice expected of us as priests is that of ourselves; not as slain, but as living, and as holy and acceptable unto God. Having been washed in preparation to serve, such is our reasonable service.
