Your Fisherman’s Net –
God is not unrighteous to forget our work and labor of love. Yet, at the Nineteenth of Matthew, Peter seemed to wonder if the sacrifices of himself and his colleagues might be overlooked. The Savior responded to declare that anyone who left houses, siblings, parents, wives, or children for His sake would receive an hundredfold, and inherit everlasting life. The Lord’s meaning is not to be understood as receiving one hundred times more homes and relatives than were left. Rather, the spiritual benefits and life quality would far exceed in value any sacrifice that had been made for the Savior’s purpose. Even so, this would not be all. The Lord promised that everlasting life is consecutive to, not concurrent to, all the benefit and blessing that comes unto those who sacrifice for the Savior’ s sake. Now, Peter, do you suppose you received sufficient value for your fisherman’s net?
