Heavenward in Christ Jesus
At the Thirty-Third of Exodus, God told Moses that he and the Israelites must depart the place where they camped near the base of Mount Sinai and go unto the land He had promised them. Though they had been delivered from Egyptian bondage and were safe from their taskmasters, they could not remain dormant; Divine orders were to move forward. The Church itself is the antitype of ancient Israel. The saints, delivered from sin as Israel was delivered from bondage, must also not stand idle nor dormant but move forward toward the promised land of Heaven itself. Paul the apostle told the Philippians that he wanted to forget what was behind him and reach forward to that which was before him; the prize for which God had called him heavenward in Christ Jesus.
