Him That Loved Us

What is large, what is small; what is long, what is short. These are all relative terms dependent upon that to which they are compared. Were the giant Og, King of Bashan, compared to the average Israelite, he would be frightfully large. Were the same man compared to the Lord in Whose Name the Israelites conquered and possessed his land and cities, Og has no more significance than anyone else. Were Goliath the Philistine giant compared to the average Israelite, he seems an insurmountable challenge. Compared to the God in Whom the shepherd boy David had unwavering faith, it required only a sling and a stone to bring him down. Compared to Satan and the sin and death he brings into the world, we are helpless victims of a cruel and spiritual enemy. Compared to the Savior, he is the conquered one, and we become more than conquerors through him that loved us.
