Church Still Stands

Approximately six hundred years before Christ, Daniel interpreted a dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, including a prophecy concerning the Divine establishment of a Kingdom that would never be destroyed and would stand forever. Three decades after that Kingdom, the Church, was brought to pass, Peter referred to it as everlasting. Wise men such as Gamaliel understood the principle, if not the fact, of an eternal Kingdom, for it was he who, at the Fifth of Acts, pointed out that movements of men had come to naught, their leaders perished, and their disciples dispersed and scattered. If the Kingdom the apostles preached was such as these, it would come to naught. If it were of God, it could not be overthrown, and any attempt to do so would amount to war against God. Not because of Gamaliel’s wisdom, but because of Divine Providence, the Kingdom of the Church still stands.
