Obedient Faith

We all use a switch to turn on the lights. However, it isn’t the switch that produces the electrical power; that’s done at the power plant. Yet, one could not access that power without the switch. Similarly, Paul the apostle taught us that we are saved by grace. However, he also taught us that faith is the avenue through which that saving grace comes, and faith without works is dead. Though grace is an unmerited favor, a man obtains this by demonstrating his faith by obedience to God. Humanity cannot earn redemption, and his works cannot pay the price. Yet, as surely as the electricity is not accessible without the switch, just as surely is saving grace not accessible without obedient faith.
