Wisdom of God to Save
The Seventeenth of Acts tells us that both the residents and visitors to Athens, Greece spent their time in nothing else but to tell or to hear some new thing. About six years after his experience in preaching the Gospel to such an audience, Paul reflected at First Corinthians One that the Greeks had regarded the message as foolishness. The Athenians would have done well to give the Word of God a more receptive hearing, for, even if it were possible for Jehovah to be foolish, which it is not, His foolishness would be wiser than man. Unfortunately, not many regarded as wise by secular standards will receive the calling of the Gospel. Nonetheless, it remains the power and the wisdom of God to save.
