Peter, at Acts the first chapter, pointed out at verse twenty-five that Judas fell by transgression. Though Judas' particular sin is unlike that which most any of us would or could commit, it still should be noted that transgression of any sort is that which causes the spiritual fall of mankind.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world…” (1 John 2:15a). Do not allow yourself to be conformed to the world (Romans 12:1), nor friends with the world (James 4:4).
This is the type of Christian that God is looking for. One who is fearless, strong, sound, yet loving. We must speak out boldly without any mixture or adulteration. We must be one who is not only willing to be taught by others but also willing to be taught by ourselves.
Here is a proposal for preparation that we can use today. “Put away” strange thoughts, strange desires, strange purposes, strange practices. In other words, self-devotion first, then a concern for all whom we can influence.
