"The liberal soul shall be made fat" (Proverbs 11:25). The one who gives to bless others cannot escape being blessed himself. Paul used a well-known principle from farming to reinforce this point. Sow little = reap little. Sow much = reap much.
How would you like to make the Lord happy? This verse tells us how. The Lord is happy with a good person (Proverbs 12:2). This is contrasted with the “man of wicked devises,” or evil person.
Too many people in the world today must think that the word “service” is spelled “serve us.” Society trains us from an early age that we should be served, but Jesus wants us to follow His example and look for opportunities to serve others.
Many people are poor at guarding their hearts and minds. They will allow any negative thought, emotion, and anxiety inside. But, by doing so, they are making their lives much more miserable for themselves and those around them.
