For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: (1 Peter 2:21).
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was tempted
like as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews
4:15). He was sinless, yet He suffered and
died in our place (Romans 6:10).
Christ is our example, a pattern for us to
duplicate in our lives. Reflect on the attributes
of the Son of God while on earth that we
should endeavor to possess. Love, compassion,
tenderness, kindness, obedience, sacrifice,
humility, genuine love (and many others).
God’s people have been called by the gospel
(1 Thessalonians 2:14), out of the world of
darkness (Colossians 1:13-14), to have the
mind (Philippians 2:5) of their Saviour. How
are you doing following the example of Christ?
