Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).
In the beginning God made human beings male and female (Genesis 1:26-27). Knowing it would not be good for man to dwell alone, God made woman as the only suitable companion for him, that the two might be joined together as one in a God designed “marriage” relationship (Genesis 2:18-24).
Biblical instruction teaches husbands to love their wives and cleave to them, and that wives are to respect their husbands and submit to their leadership (Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19).
To avoid immoral conduct outside the bond of marriage, the Scriptures plainly limit the sexual expression of love as only between husband and wife (1 Corinthians 7:2-4), but apart from marriage, it would be wrong and sinful.
The choicest of life’s blessings are obtained in marriage when a man and woman commit themselves to each other for life (Romans 7:2-3).
