Daily Lift – August 20, 2016

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels (Proverbs 1:5).

It is not simply the unlearned and ignorant who should seek to increase their knowledge. The foolish man is content with little, but the wise man will ever seek to grow in the knowledge of God.

The wisest of humanity never cease to increase their knowledge, and yet there is no knowledge greater than the knowledge of God! In fact, “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” are hid in God (Colossians 2:3).

God has made known to us “all things that pertain unto life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). Let us strive to hear His Word that we might “be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” (Colossians 1:9).
