Obedient Children
Most of us have received gifts from a well intentioned giver, though we may have been unable to readily discern either the usefulness or the praticality of the gift. We may just learn to appreciate it by reminding ourselves that it is the thought that counts. The First of James, however, teaches us that God is the Giver of gifts that are both good and perfect, and among these gifts is the spiritual beget tal He makes possible with the Word of Truth. Begettal is the means by which all animate life reproduces after its own kind. The Word of God is the seed of spiritual conception that makes it possible for us to be born again, and enjoy the spiritual likeness of our Heavenly Father. First Peter Chapter One teaches us that it is obedience to the truth that purifies the soul, and that we are born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. The result is the addition to the Family of God of those who are obedient children.
