In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity (Titus 2:7).
The doctrine of Christ is that in which all faithful people must abide (2 John 1:9). Paul stresses here the attitudes of heart toward that doctrine which must be true of Titus and any who seek to please God. That doctrine is perfect (James 1:25). Any way that man changes the doctrine makes it imperfect. In verse 10 of this same chapter Paul talks about the amazing prospect of adorning or making attractive this doctrine before others.
Abiding in the doctrine of Christ and allowing it to direct our way sets us up for the ultimate in accomplishments: to make attractive the doctrine of Christ.
