The Seventeenth of Exodus tells of the miraculous delivery of water from a rock so that the Israelites could be refreshed in the wilderness. Paul told the Church at Corinth that the Rock was Christ, indicating that the rock was a type of the Lord Who would later provide spiritually living water. At the Fourth of John, Christ offered the living water to a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well, though she seemed to confuse it with physical water. Though one would thirst again after drinking from the well, the Savior said those who drank of the spiritual water He provided would never thirst for more. Further, those that drank of it would find in themselves a well of water springing up into everlasting life. By this, one may also provide unto others spiritual refreshment.
