Daily Lift – December 07, 2015

That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged (Deuteronomy 6:2).

In every dispensation of time, throughout the history of man, Almighty God has required man’s obedience to His instruction. The whole of man is to fear God and keep His commands (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

There is no greater way to build for the future in our lives on earth as well as the hereafter than to teach our children the way of God. In our text, we see the benefit of doing so. Solomon encouraged to train our children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). In Ephesians 6 we learn the value of bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Certainly we desire heaven after life on earth is complete – especially for those whom we love.
