The Last Day
More than nineteen hundred years before Christ, God promised to raise up the nation of Israel through the descendants of Abraham. It appears God never originally intended for anyone but Himself to rule that nation, for, at First Samuel Eight, when Israel petitioned for a king, God told Samuel the people were rejecting the Lord that He should not reign over them. As God warned them of the consequences of having a mortal rather than immortal King, the Savior also warns us of the consequences of rejecting Him. At the Twelfth of John, Jesus cautioned that he that rejected Him and received not His words would have one that judges him. The word that the Savior speaks shall judge man in the last day.
