A Crown of Life
Men who undertake the same type of manual labor often have the same type of calluses to show for it. Those who undertake an unlimited commitment of service to the Savior may be called upon to suffer as did He. The Savior told His apostles that the disciple is not above his master, nor is the servant above his lord; further, it is enough it be so. The manner of difficulty one may be called upon to endure may not be known until it occurs. Hence, a resolve of faithfulness is necessary preparation before the fact. Paul told Timothy that if we endure, we will reign with Him, while the Savior promised at the Second of Revelation, “Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”
