Daily Lift – December 15, 2015

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

A dear friend recently received feared news from his doctor, “There’s nothing we can do. It is terminal.” This spiritual person responded with “Yes, we are all terminal. Life here on earth is brief at best” and referred to James 4:14.

A beautiful hymn correctly states, “This world is not our home, we merely passing through.”

Appointments in life are made. Most are promptly kept and others fall by the side. But dear one, the appointment we have with death will be kept – there is no escape.

After death we know there will come the judgment. For the faithful obedient servant of God – judgment will be a wonderful time of receiving our reward. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and our mansion (Hebrews 12:1-2; John 14:1-3).
