He Also Will Deny Us
The Eighth of Acts records a man of Ethiopia verbalizing his faith in Jesus Christ before Philip baptized him for the remission of sins. The Tenth of Matthew, however, indicates other occasions upon which it is appropriate to openly own one’s faith in the Lord. There, the Savior told His apostles of things they may suffer as a result of their preaching of the Gospel. They were told not to fear those who could harm only the body, and promised that the Lord would confess them before God who confessed Him before men. However, they would be denied who denied the Christ. At Second Timothy Two, Paul the apostle similarly wrote, saying, “If we deny Him, He also will deny us.”
