The Resurrection and the Life

It is common for death to be interpreted as a final and irreversible end. Likely, this is because of the lifeless body being interred in the grave, and we physically see nothing more beyond that. However, there is a great deal more to see through the eye of faith. At the Eleventh of John, we see Jesus Christ referring to Lazarus’ death as a sleep and saying that He would go and awaken him; and He did. When we retire to our beds at night, we do so with the fullest expectation of awakening in the morning. This how the Lord wishes for us to understand the death of the saints, and the resurrection of Lazarus, as well as His own, are ample proof that He is, indeed, the resurrection and the life.
