They Shall See God

We have often heard advice from medical professionals and others about how to maintain proper health of the heart. All this is designed to prolong a person’s terrestrial life. However, how long we live upon the earth is less important than what we achieve while here, and the legacy we leave behind. For this reason, the Fourth of Proverbs tells us at Verse Twenty Three to keep the heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. Solomon here refers to the seat of one’s conscience, emotion, and character. From there issue forth those things which will be known as the products of one’s life. Hence, at Proverbs Twenty Three, we are taught at Verse Seven that a man is as he thinks in his heart. It is no wonder, then, that the keeping of the heart must be done with diligence. If you lack spiritual purity in heart, the products and legacy of your life will be similarly lacking. On the other hand, our Savior said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
