Those with Faith
At Second Peter One, the apostle commended to us seven spiritual qualities, all of which were to be added to one’s faith. As the apparent basis for all that follows, faith appears to facilitate the seven qualities to their proper development. In faith’s absence, none of those qualities is possible in the proper type and degree. It is interesting to note that faith is the ideal response of the soul to the Word of God, according to the Tenth of Romans. While faith is cultivated from a knowledge of the Word, Peter taught that knowledge is one of the seven qualities added to faith. Faith and knowledge, then, are mutually dependent one upon another. Faith springs from knowledge, and the pursuit of greater knowledge is a quality of those with faith.
