Conquered Within

In order to be an effective warrior, a soldier must learn both offensive and defensive skills of warfare. The the Sixth of Ephesians, the apostle Paul described the armor of God, including the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Similar terminology is used at Hebrews Four, where Verse Twelve declares the Word of God to be quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It is not only the enemy without, however, that must be defeated. The enemy that may dwell within must also be vanquished. Again, the word of God is up to the task. Should one be uncertain whether Satan has influenced him, or to what degree, that Sword of the Spirit discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. Should one be uncertain of how he is regarded in the eyes of God, His Word defines for us in every condition and circumstance of life how we are seen in the eyes of Him before Whom all things are uncovered and open. In order to conquer Satan without, he must first be conquered within.
