The Head of Christ is God

The basic building block of any proper and successful society is the family. Historically, the family recognized its father, or patriarch, as its head, and was composed of all those who could properly claim kinship to that patriarch. The will and authority of the latter was considered binding upon every member of his family. The same is true of the family of God. John Three and First Peter One teach us of being spiritually born or begotten again of water, the Spirit, incorruptible seed, and the Word of God. The Eighth of Romans teaches us that these are the children and the heirs of God, while the Second of Ephesians points out the absolute authority of the Lord over the Church. Any, then, who may properly claim to be the children of God have been spiritually born again by the prescribed means. Failure to recognize the absolute authority of the Lord is to dishonor the Head of the spiritual family. Paul taught that the head of the woman is the man, the Head of the man is Christ, and the Head of Christ is God.
