God Will Draw Nigh unto Them
Because the Savior cautioned us that the majority of humanity will fail to enter eternal life and that only a relative few would find it, it behooves us to discover what those few have in common. At the Fifth of Matthew, the Lord said the pure in heart are blessed, for they will see God. Solomon observed that people become what they think in heart and further advised us that the products of a person’s life are determined by the heart. At the Fourth of James, it appears that they are double-minded who wish to be in a close relationship with God but who become guilty of sin due to impurity of the heart. Those who draw nigh to God by cleansing their hands of guilt and purifying the heart will find that God will draw nigh unto them.
