Love of the Brethren
Because the condition of the heart determines the quality of the person, Paul wrote at the Fifth of Galatians that we should walk as the Spirit of God directs us through His Word. By so doing, we will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. The apostle noted that the results of such gratification are well known and included murder among them. The fruit of the Spirit, however, manifests itself in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Each of these qualities is characteristic of those of whom we read at First John Three. These are they who have passed from the death resulting from sin unto the spiritual life that is in Jesus Christ and evidence such by their love of the brethren.
