Soon after the end of the American Civil War, Robert E. Lee visited a church in Washington, D.C. During the communion service he knelt beside a black man. An onlooker said to him later, “How could you do that?” Lee replied, “My friend, all ground is level beneath the cross.”
How sad it is to see people, especially those professing to be children of God, getting caught up in prejudice. Prejudice, racism, and any such denigration of character has no place in the human race. If one looks into the mirror of his soul (the Bible, James 1:22-25), it should cause him to see that all come before the Lord on an equal level. All have sinned (Romans 3:23), therefore all need Christ. Red, and yellow, black, and white, all are precious in His sight (John 3:16).
