Daily Lift – July 18, 2015

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? (Luke 9:25).

Jesus sets forth a common sense question of gain and loss. No price can be placed on the value of the soul.

To us, is it the “almighty dollar” or the Almighty God?

Placing our trust in the former will cause us to lose our souls eternally. God said to the rich farmer, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” (Luke 16:25).

If we sell our souls for the world, we will lose it all. What will we choose? We determine our own eternal destiny!
