Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment (John 7:24).
In defending some wrongdoing, there are people who are quick to quote Jesus in Matthew 7:1, “judge not, that ye be not judged.” However, we would do well to notice all that our Lord has said on this subject, including the passage cited. “Judge not according to the appearance.” Things are not always as they seem. “…but judge righteous judgment.”
Examine the facts and put everything into the right perspective, and righteous judgment can be made.
The Jews had judged by appearance and accused Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. They did not judge righteously. May we be people to righteous judgment.
