God Set the Price

The Twenty-Seventh of Leviticus tells us about those who may have committed themselves, their families, or their property to sacred service. If one wished to redeem any of these from the vowed obligation, then the Lord or, in some cases, the priest, would determine the price of the redemption. While the cost of such redemption was paid in money, First Peter One reminds us that the spiritual redemption of the soul is not possible with corruptible silver or gold. Rather, this most costly of all forms of redemption required the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without spot or blemish. Again, as before, Jehovah God set the price.
