Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine (Exodus 19:5).
My family is my treasure and they have my heart. God wants that connection with me. The Psalmist prays, “Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings” (Psalm 17:8).
In the Old Testament God chose His people. The people were His chosen. In the New Testament He waits for us to choose Him. There is a real sense in which God is now the chosen One.
How can it be that the God of all the universe loves me and wants me for His child? Yet it’s true! Today vow to Him again that you will never leave Him nor forsake Him. Obey Him with everything you have, and the One who possesses heaven and earth will call you His treasure.
