Earth’s Ultimate Demise

It is not unusual for one thing to remind us of something or someone else. In reality, God put certain reminders in place for that very purpose. For example, the unleavened bread and fruit of the vine are intended in remembrance of the sacrificed body and blood of Jesus Christ. At the Ninth of Genesis, we learn that the rainbow is Divinely intended to remind us not only of the flood of Noah, but also of God’s promise to never again destroy man nor the earth by flood. We have known in our lifetimes of floods causing extensive damage or even loss of life and of tidal waves and tsunamis laying waste entire towns and communities, but not of global destruction. While the rainbow reminds us of what shall never occur again, it is fire that reminds us of the earth’s ultimate demise.
