O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever (Psalm 107:1).
Probably the simplest song we sing is “God is So Good.” The words are so simple, in fact, that we can forget just how profound that thought is.
God is good through-and-through. When we speak of a person who is “good,” we know there is still some weakness in that person. Not so with God! He is perfectly good.
The psalmist stated that part of the goodness of God is that “His steadfast love endures forever.” Notice that word “endures.” Sometimes, we may test the love of God, but that love endures. Despite our weaknesses and frailties, God remains good and loving.
It should thrill our soul to think of the simple but profound words, “God is so good.”
