Daily Lift – March 17, 2016

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest (John 4:35).

I just went along, but I didn’t enjoy it. It was when my parents got invitations to pick corn from fields at harvest time. I hated the bugs, the heat, and (yes) the work. But I liked the corn.

Jesus told His followers that the fields around were “white for harvest,” showing them that there were people who needed to know the Lord. But it would take work to “harvest” those people.

While our world may seem to not want to know Jesus Christ, there are still souls in need of saving, and there are still people who are willing to listen. The question we must answer every day is not “Are there people who need the Lord?” Instead, we must answer, “Am I willing to do the work?” Are you?
