Spiritual Conception

The Third of Luke enumerates for us Seventy-Four generations from Adam unto Joseph, each generation begotten of the one before it. While the principle of biological fatherhood is evident, what is even more important to us is the principle of spiritual fatherhood. In His conversation with Nicodemus at the Third of John, the Savior pointed out that it is flesh that is born of flesh, but that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. While it is natural to begotten of an earthly father and born of an earthly mother, it is spiritual to be born again of the Heavenly Father. At the First of James, we are taught that God, of His own will, begat us with the Word of Truth. At First Peter One, we are taught that we are born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. It is the Spirit inspired Word of God that is the seed of spiritual conception.
