Daily Lift – March 29th, 2018

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

Although penned particularly to the
captives in Babylon, these words serve
generally to all who face difficulties in life.

Note five key words: First, there is the word
“wait.” In this context it is in reference to waiting
upon God with the expectation of help from
Him. He is “the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians
1:3). Second is the word “renew.” The renewal of
strength is promised to those who “wait.” Third is
the word “mount.” Reference is to the eagle attains
new strength and lives to an old age (Psalm 103:5).
Fourth is the word “run.” Running without tiring
is grand physically; but, especially so spiritually
(Galatians 6:9). Fifth is the word “walk.” (parallel
to the one involving running). What promises for
those who “wait upon the Lord!”
