I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
What is our “reasonable” service? That word means, “logical” or “practical.” Our reasonable service is our logical, spiritual worship. In other words, it makes sense for God’s creation to be presented before Him as those who are willing to do whatever praises Him.
Our bodies are to be used to glorify Him. Our minds and actions are to be pure, according to His characteristic holiness.
Our number one goal in life as children of God is to please our Father. We do this because of “the mercies of God” (Lamentations 3:22). We give ourselves because He gave Himself first (2 Corinthians 5:14-15).
