Words of Spiritual Wisdom

The words of a wise man are recognized by other wise men, and by those who would increase their own wisdom. Yet, the wise will speak not only of their own experiences, nor only of the product of their own studies, but of the wisdom of other wise men from whom they have learned. As the words of the wise live on in the words of others of wisdom, so will the students of these wise ones perpetuate that which has been learned among those who wish to learn it. Because there is no source of knowledge or wisdom greater than the Holy Word, the apostle Peter called upon those who spoke to speak as the oracles of God. The oracle is known not only as that which is spoken, but also as he who speaks. Therefore, those who would speak of spiritual things must speak what God has spoken by those through whom He hath spoken it. As Peter wrote again, holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Of these only come the words of spiritual wisdom.
