Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God (Joshua 14:8).
The event is well recorded in the history of Israel. Twelve men spied out the Promised Land. After forty days, the men returned with their reports. Ten reports were evil. Two were positive. One of the positive reports came from Caleb. The words of our text are his.
There are two types of people in the world, discouragers and encouragers. The discouragers make the hearts of people melt. They keep people from doing great things for God.
The encouragers understand their God. Note, Caleb called God “the Lord my God.” The encouragers wholly follow Him. They move God’s people forward. They conquer the enemy and claim the blessings of God. Which are you?
