Daily Lift – October 02, 2016

For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy (Leviticus 11:45).

Captivity, oppression, suffering – these are all words that defined Israel’s past. In Egypt they were slaves under the heavy hand of taskmasters. But Jehovah had delivered them out in His typical way, full of power and might. So, being free, what greater way could they demonstrate their honor to Him for all He had done? Be holy.

Captivity, oppression, suffering – these are all words that define our past. In sin we were slaves under the heavy hand of iniquity. But Jehovah has delivered us, His own people out in His typical way, full of power and might. So, being free, what greater way can we demonstrate our honor to Him for all He has done? “Ye shall be holy; for I am holy”
(1 Peter 1:16).
