The World Corrupting Man

Concerns are often expressed about the pollution of the earth’s water, soil, and air. Those concerns are legitimate, for all three are necessary to the sustaining of life on the planet. However, a greater concern than man polluting the earth is that of the world polluting man. At First John Two, we are taught that the carnal nature of the world is composed of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. That carnal world is destined to pass away along with those who lust after it. However, those who do the will of the Father are promised to abide forever. To lust after the world is to be corrupted by it, and we are told as much at Second Peter One. There, the apostle writes at Verse Four that by great and precious promises we might be partakers of the Divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. A far greater concern than man polluting the earth is that of the world corrupting man.
